Two architecture firms from Sarawak are recognised for their outstanding work at the PAM Awards 2025, held this evening at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Organised annually by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), the PAM Awards honour design excellence and innovation in the field of architecture across Malaysia.

PAM Sarawak Chapter members were awarded Silver in two key categories:

Silver Award – Multiple Residential High Rise Category

Project: Lumos Residence
Architects: Ar. Lau Ming Ngi & Ar. Kong Yean Wei of MNSC Architects
Client: Benta Mewah Sdn Bhd
Builder: Global Eden Sdn Bhd

Jury’s Citation:
Lumos exemplifies architectural excellence in high-rise living, integrating passive design strategies, green facades, and contextual sensitivity to elevate comfort, sustainability, and urban elegance.

Silver Award – Commercial High Rise Category

Project: UNIFOR Complex
Architect: Ar. David Ong of David Ong Architect
Client: Sarawak Unit for Other Religions Charitable Trust
Builder: Hong Seng Construction (EM) Sdn Bhd

Jury’s Citation:
The Unifor Complex reinterprets unity through a contemporary tropical lens—merging cultural symbolism, passive performance, and expressive façade geometry into a singular architectural narrative.

The recognition of these projects highlights the growing contribution of Sarawak-based architects to the national architectural landscape. The PAM Awards 2025 continue to serve as the benchmark for architectural distinction in Malaysia, celebrating projects that demonstrate both design innovation and cultural relevance.
